The Super Sterasyl grade has a ceramic outer shell with silver imbedded to prevent mirobiological growth on the surface. This also makes the filter self-sterilizing. The ceramic shell filters pathogenic bacteria's and cysts. Underneath the ceramic shell is granular activated carbon. The carbon reduces chlorine, organics, odors, and filters out bad tastes.
