This disc-like de-icer is designed to be completely submerged in any bird bath. It comes with a stainless steel guard six foot cord cord chew protector built in thermostat so it only runs below 35 degrees Fahrenheit and an adjustable clamp so that you can attach the de-icer to the water container. The de-icer should be positioned in the center of the bird bath with the power cord draped over the side. Run a fully grounded extension cord to the unit and always keep the unit clean by removing any lime buildup. Store your de-icer indoors during winter months.
