Neo/SCI Exploring Groundwater Contamination Lab Investigation enables students to create a mini groundwater simulation model that shows the mobility of a simulated, colored pollutant. Students find out the conditions under which contamination takes place from different sources like spills, farms, buried tanks and how the polluted groundwater eventually reaches the drinking water supply. It also gives an opportunity to the students to learn about water cycle, water quality, ppm and ppb pollutant contamination, porosity of soils and other related concepts. Enough materials are provided for 40 students working in 10 groups of 4.
