The Fenix LD09 has been updated for 2015 and it contains a few new and very useful features. Takes Ni-MH, AA alkaline, and 14500 rechargeable lithium-ion (li-ion) batteries. The output rate on the high setting for the 14500 battery is 220 lumens, while for the Ni-MH primary and the AA alkaline battery, it is 130 lumens. For the mid-level setting, it is 50 lumens across all battery types. And for the low setting, it is 3 lumens across all battery types. The burn rates for the LD09 are: on the high setting for Ni-MH, 1h 45 min., for AA alkaline, it is 50 min., for the 14500, it is 1h. For the mid-level mode, it is 8h 5 min. with Ni-MH, it is 5h with AA alkaline, and it is 5h 35 min. for the 14500 battery. For the lowest setting, it runs 70h with Ni-MH, 43h with AA alkaline, and 58h with a 14500. The peak beam intensity/Candela rate for the LD09 is 3600cd, and its beam/throw distance is 120m, and has a beam/throw angle of 70 degrees. Its IPX rating is 8 and the impact resistance is 1m. The LD09 has reverse polarity protection, an intelligent drive circuit, a digitally regulated output, and overheating protection. Has an anti-roll body and a power switch on the tailcap. The shell is built from Type III-grade aircraft-standard hard-anodized aluminum with an anti-abrasive finish and the mineral glass lens is very clear and has been reinforced.
